Music Therapy: What It Is and What It Does
Music Therapy is the systematized use of music to accomplish therapeutic goals. The Music Therapists at Love Notes are credentialed professionals and are trained to use specific music interventions within the context of a therapeutic relationship. These interventions can address the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals. Music Therapy recognizes the inherent power of music to touch and heal people and works to harness that power in a manner that is organized and measurable. Due to the creative nature of music, the value of Music Therapy is often apparent in observing the process as well as the product. For more information about music therapy as a profession, please visit the American Music Therapy Association's website.
Over the last ten years, Love Notes has developed an integrated system of sound healing modalities and clinical music therapy practices. Our diverse client base has led us to develop services that are flexible and scalable. Each Music Therapy session is carefully designed to fit the needs of the client which are determined by an initial assessment conducted prior to treatment. Each session is as unique as the individuals participating. This wide range of needs presented by our past and current clients has evolved a holistic style to music and healing and the synergies that are created when the two are properly combined. This manifests in the form of a heart-centered approach that helps awaken one’s inherent natural healing powers while our therapists create a safe, reliable container to promote healing.
